은/는, 이/가
Topic 은/는 vs. Subject 이/가
은/는 marks the topic or a contrast, while 이/가 marks the subject or new information.
Explanation
은/는 marks the topic, meaning what the sentence is about, and it is also used to contrast one thing with another. 이/가 marks the subject, pointing out who or what does something; it is used for new information and in questions with 누가 or 무엇이 and their answers. Nouns before 있다/없다, 많다, and 아니다 usually take 이/가 as well.
